[The river is |bitchy annoyed]

G and I went to to the movies a couple of days ago. While I was watching the preview for Sweeney Todd, I suddenly realized that I had seen the play when it was on Broadway. I can't remember actually seeing it, or who I went with, I just know that I went.

I hate forgetting stuff like that. It's really unfair. I want to remember the show.

Well at least I know I went. Maybe seeing the movie will shake out some memories of the play and the evening that I went to see it.

Schools of thought

A philosopher, such as yourself but with a more ancient blog, once said that those who can not remember the past are bound to repeat it. I understood that he had forgotten his anniversary 'AGAIN' and was undergoing a strangely familiar conversation with his wife before he had to go out shopping. Perhaps, he too had forgtotten a play and was doomed to watch it over and over again until he had all the lines pat.

Yesterday, I turned on the television and watched Forrest Gump for the umpteeth time. That isn't quite the same thing because I remember all the dialogue. But it still sounds the best fresh as film.

Another perspective is that we are programmed to forget. A study showed that those who forget the most, also learn the quickest. One thing about cdozo, we all know she is a quick study in her quicksilver fashion.
