Gorgeous picture! How'd you get one to hold still? I only ever see them zooming around or hovering over a flower.

It was resting by the porch light last night. I disturbed it by trying to photograph it with the ruler. It fluttered around and then settled down. Then the flash disturbed it and it fluttered around again. I noticed that it kept going back to the same spot. So I focused the camera on that spot and then deliberately (gently) disturbed it. While it was fluttering around I put my hand in "its spot" and sat very still until it landed. It took a few tries for it to get comfortable sitting on my hand. Once it settled down, I started taking pictures.

Here's one of it landing on my hand:

No, we won't be able to get you for about a week. But there will be lots of people coming and going because there is a big convention in town. So you ought to be able to pick a few pockets and maybe run a three card monte game to get some spending money for while you wait for us.
