Why don't they have to reveal any information about the father?
From the http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/08/oklahoma-abortion-law-det_n_313779.html:
A new Oklahoma law requires physicians to disclose detailed information on women's abortions to the State's Department Of Health, which will then post the collected data on a public website. The controversial measure comes into effect on November 1 and will cost $281,285 to implement, $256,285 each subsequent year to maintain.
Oklahoma women undergoing abortion procedures will be legally forced to reveal:
1) Date of abortion
2) County in which abortion is performed
3) Age of mother
4) Marital status of mother
5) Race of mother
6) Years of education of mother
7) State or foreign country of residence of mother
8) Total number of previous pregnancies of the mother
Excellent point. I just saw that article and didn't think of that.
That is really fked up, the whole thing, but the lack of father information gets its own special fked up award.
I have a feeling people will be surprised to find how many of their friends, neighbors, nuns, cops, wives, mothers, sisters, aunts, camp counselors, babysitters, secretaries, teachers, and graduates of abstinence-only sex ed will be on that list. This is a crock. If they do it for abortion, they should do it for every other procedure too. Anal warts on the Lieutenant governor's tush? Front page news. DA's kid gets a black eye? Call the damn hotline. All or nothing Oklahoma.
