I got the H1N1 flu shot this evening and G got the H1N1 nasal vaccine. The shot was the most painless shot I've ever gotten. It was weird. I literally didn't feel a thing.

I don't expect the H1N1 flu to become a major pandemic. I also don't expect to have any major side effects from the vaccine. It was free, G wanted to get the nasal vaccine, and I figured, "why not." So we got it.

I'll post about it here if I have any exciting vaccine-related ailments (if I'm able to post at all). Then you can all tell your friends, "I know someone who got the vaccine and a few days later she..."

We got them through an Austin/Travis health department clinic. The article I read said an appointment was required, but they were taking walk-ins when we got there. We were a half an hour late for our appointment and they weren't upset.

I called 972-5520 to make the appointment

There's one more clinic. It runs from 1 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 17 at the Burger Center in south Austin.

More Info

You don't have to live in Travis County.

Details about the clinic is available at http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/health/news_h1n1_clinics.htm.

You did see that video of the woman who got the vaccine and then got some neuro thing where she could only walk normally if she was going backwards, right?
