NOT THRILLED. Tuesday is one of Michael's class days, and for me involves starting out before 6 am to drive him to Leander--20 miles--on roads I know won't be sanded in their entirety, alongside drivers with less snow-driving experience than I have.

And then I have to pick him up in the evening, same deal. Forty mile round trip either way.

Not lovin' it.

While I was at UT, I lived out on 2222 during one of those years where there were a bunch of ice storms. During one particularly bad storm I scraped the ice off of the windshield, drove down the driveway, scraped the ice off again, started to pull out on to 2222 and realized that there was no way I would make it to UT in one piece.

So I went back to the house and called the Dean of the College of Engineering. I pointed out that some roads were nigh on to impassible, not all students lived on campus and college-age students might not be cautious enough to stay home, in fact they might feel it challenged to prove that they could make it to school in spite of the icy road conditions. It seemed to me that there were more weather-related cancellations after that.

Hopefully ACC will cancel classes or shut down early if the weather gets bad.
