I think I might want this song, All La Glory by The Band, to be played at my funeral. But maybe not. It's very sweet, but it might make people too sad, and I really don't care what happens at my funeral anyway. But this would be a sweet funeral song for somebody's funeral. Click the link above to hear the song. (Just so you know, I'm not feeling like I'm gonna die, I just rediscovered this song a couple of weeks ago via my Youtube playlist, and I've been enjoying listening to it.)

All La Glory

I wanna hear pitter patter
Climb up your ladder, now
It's time for you to dream away
'Cause for a big day that you've been through
You've done all the things that you wanted to do

All la glory, I'm second story
Feel so tall like a prison wall

I'm lookin' for a star bright
To shine down your light, now
And keep the little one safe and warm
'Cause to her it's just a fantasy
And to me it's all a mystery

All la glory, I'm second story
Feel so tall like a prison wall

And before the leaves all turn brown
Before they fall to the ground
You will find the harmony, wait and see

Listen to the serenade
Little girl, promenade, now
You've got the sunshine in your hand
And maybe on a one sweet day
You'll walk that Milky Way

All la glory, I'm second story
Feel so tall like a prison wall that tall

If there is only one song played at my funeral, it should be this one:

Who is it that lifts us to the sky?
The claw
The claw
The claw
Who doesn't care if we have three eyes
He picks you right up and then you'll rise
What a surprise
I'll miss you guys
Now it's the claw, the claw, the claw
Yes it's the claw, the claw, the claw
There's nothing quite as glorious
That makes you more notorious
Than to be chosen yes
To be chosen by the claw
Who chooses now if we'll stay or go?
The claw
The claw
The claw
Who doesn't care if we have no nose
And little round bodies with no toes
Well here I go
Wha'd'ya know?
Yes he is chosen by the claw
Yes he is chosen by the claw
It's really so mysterious
It makes you quite delirious
When you are chosen when
You are chosen by the claw
The claw, the claw, the claw

The arrangement of the recorded version has organ music and sounds somewhat church-like. I like the song so much, that when I found out who wrote it, I found his Facebook account and wrote him a fan letter telling him that it's one of my favorite songs. He wrote me back saying that it was one of his favorite songs too. The interesting thing this song is that as far as I know, the only way to get it was via a CD that came in a cereal box back when G was about 7 years old.

At the end of the service, In The Mood by The Glenn Miller Band should play as everyone walks out.
