These pictures were taken over about a half an hour in the parking lot of the Gateway Shopping Center in Austin, Texas.
The edge of the storm. I think it's called the "shield."
Frilly bands formed in the main cloud.
The frilly stuff looked like mini-MOMA clouds.
The lower clouds were long and thin and parallel to each other.
More frilly stuff showed up in bands.
Then we went to the store. When we came out, the clouds in the sky opposite the hurricane were very pretty.
We got no rain from the hurricane, but we did get some light gusty winds (about 20mph). Friday night into Saturday, the storm moved off to the northeast. The air in Austin became blaringly hot and dry. It's been over 100 degrees every day since Friday (today is Sunday).
