McCain's Friends

The most baffling statement in tonight's debate came from John McCain. In discussing how he would prioritize health care, energy and entitlement reform, McCain said in part:

"We can work on nuclear power plants. Build a whole bunch of them, create millions of new jobs. We have to have all of the above, alternative fuels, wind, tide, solar, natural gas, clean coal technology. All of these things we can do as Americans and we can take on this mission and we can overcome it.

My friends, some of this $700 billion ends up in the hands of terrorist organizations.

As far as health care is concerned, obviously, everyone is struggling to make sure that they can afford their premiums and that they can have affordable and available health care. That's the next issue."

I don't know about you, but I found that single paragraph sentence about terrorist organizations a bit confusing. Does this mean that John McCain has already picked out the terrorist organizations we're giving the money to or does Congress have to vote on it?

Kicking Ass

Do This Now

PBS has an online poll posted asking if Sarah Palin is qualified. Apparently the right wing knew about this in advance and are flooding the voting with YES votes.

The poll will be reported on PBS and picked up by mainstream media. It can influence undecided voters in swing states.

Please do two things -- takes 20 seconds.
1) Click on link and vote yourself.
Here's the link: http://www.pbs.org/now/polls/poll-435.html

2) Then send this to every single Obama-Biden voter you know, and urge them to vote and pass it on.

The last thing we need is PBS saying their viewers think Sarah Palin is qualified.

ETA: Yes, I understand that asking if Palin is "qualified" is a silly question, because yes, she fits the requirements necessary to be allowed the office. The poll is implying the question of whether or not she is competent to be in that position. That is what the majority of people seeing the vote who don't take the time to read what the question says, will interpret.
