What a great prank. Too bad the stupid school is overreacting.

Students Allegedly Post Fake Snow Day

RENTON, Ohio — Two teenage girls are accused of gaining unauthorized access to their school district's Web site and posting a fake winter school closing, police said.

Edgewood City Schools Superintendent Tom York said he was perplexed when he entered the Web site to announce a one-hour delay for cold and found an announcement that school was canceled for snow _ which wasn't in the forecast.

"I didn't make that call, and I'm the guy who does, so I knew something was up," York said.

The two Edgewood High School students were charged Friday and face expulsion. The fake notice, posted Feb. 5, confused many parents and persuaded some students to stay home.

capital punishment

Which do you think is my choice:

a) Expulsion is too good for them. Give them the chair or the rope or even the four points. Those softies, letting those girls off so easily.

b) At the most, they should be suspended so they can prepare an invaluable short course in computer security to Edgewood City Schools Superintendent Tom York.

c) They should be given jobs as weather people since they probably had as much a chance of being right as those spokespeople at 10:18 Nightcast--¨30% of the viewing area will have rain (whew, at least 70% of the viewing area won´t know where that 30% is).

d) All those students who were ´persuaded´ to stay home should report to school with notes from their parents that they weren´t out smoking bananas on snow day.

Re: capital punishment

c works. I agree with Cdozo that a good prank should bring people together and not pull them apart.
