Wind takes over everything. It gets dust in your eyes, in your food, and in your bed. It blows the heat from your camp stove so everything takes longer to cook. It blows your book around making it a chore just to read. It wreaks havoc on the lines holding up the canopies and the tent, so they require constant monitoring. It tumbles things around, causing trash cans and tumbleweeds to come barreling through camp and old tree branches to come crashing down way too close for comfort. It's also a constant source of noise, noise, NOISE! Not a nice, consistent, soothing noise like rain, but an irritating, erratic noise that is impossible to ignore.
Today it's windy here and I'm glad I live inside.
