Ticks gross me out. After taking some pictures of it, I killed this tick. :-(  I think it's an American Dog Tick. I'm pretty sure I picked it up out at the land, but I found it on my hat when I was using the computer back at my rent house.

Tick On A Drumstick

On a different note, when we were leaving the land yesterday, a john and his hooker were heading down the road to the land. I stopped them and told them the people who owned the land around there had hired me to do security. They said they'd just drive down the road a bit, then turn around and leave.

I told them no, they had to back out (about five feet) and leave NOW!

Their eyes got wide, they said OK, and left in a hurry. It was pretty funny. I hope I scared the hooker enough that she stops bringing her customers out there.

I'm trying to connect all of this. First off, you are one tough chick. Way to go, security guard. Secondly, perhaps you can collect the ticks and then use them to scare people off your land? If that doesn't pay off for you, then perhaps you can teach this tick to play the drums? (Oh, that's right, you already killed it - too bad, it could have been the start of something big, ever hear of the circus?) I would think ticks would be natural drummers, keeping good time...tick, tick, tick. Just a thought.

Show the hooker the tick. Tell her about the diseases ticks carry. Mention scorpions, tarantulas, centipedes, and the "fact" that snakes like warm engine blocks and can then ooze into the body of the car through the holes where brake pedals and stuff come through...

Ticked off

I think you must have put on your scary face. You can do that, you know -- eyes wide and staring earnestly. It looks sort of cute but demented at the same time.

Either that or they saw the tick in your hat and didn't want to say anything but just wanted to get away.
