[The frogs are singing |Eastern Avenue River Railway Blues playing in my head]

Today it's really raining in the good slow soaking kind of way. This is a good thing.

I got a nice walk in the rain because my truck overheated yesterday. So today I took it to the mechanic and walked home in the rain. I am happy to report that my snake boots are totally waterproof. I Snow-Sealed them last fall, and this was their first real test. I waked in puddles almost up to my ankles and there was nary a leak. My feet stayed warm and toasty.

So the truck is getting a new water pump for $450.00. Hopefully that will fix him up and he will run for another billion miles with no further problems. Go Nippy go!

At the moment it's not raining up here, but we had some good slow rain during the night. I'd rouse and hear it fingering the roof and go back to sleep. This morning the grass in the back yard is glowing green and at least an inch higher than yesterday. The lily pond is full to the brim and over. Even the distant fields, though mostly tan and gray from the drought, are looking as if they might have some life in the roots.

Good luck with the water pump repair. I had a Rambler once that ate water pumps and alternators, but was otherwise a wonderful car.

Told you so. I forgot to put sno-seal and an extra water pump on the preparedness list. Rain on, rain. Run on, Nippy.

Supposedly, it'll rain if the front stalls at the coast, but not if it moves on out into the Gulf.
