I turned the TV on and discovered three really cool shows on PBS about "Making," the new name for home hobby activities. It hurt my head to watch the screen, but I left the TV on and listened while I drifted in and out of sleep. It was really interesting. The shows covered how to make a system that uses a potato gun, a homemade cutter and a deep fat fryer to make french fries; how to make an automatic cat feeder from an old VCR, homemade gears and pulleys; and how to make a kite camera. There was also a segment on a group of people who transform old bikes into weird, barely functional bikes. The shows are available online here. I think you all might like them.
On the moving-out-to-the-land front, I've raised what I think will be the last round of money for the move. With this money, I should be able to pay off all the folks I owe and get power to the trailer. If there's enough money left, I'll buy a storage building. If not, that will have to wait, so I'll rent a storage unit for now.
