I ordered some stuff from Amazon yesterday and I chose Free Super Saver Shipping. The site said each item would ship in about five days and take up to eight days to be delivered. I called Amazon, and the rep said everything would be there by Christmas. So I had it all shipped to the house in Connecticut. We will be there by Monday, so it all seemed cool until this morning when I got an e-mail from Amazon that said, in part, "We thought you'd like to know that we shipped this portion of your order separately to give you quicker service."
So I checked the tracking number and the item was expected to arrive on Friday. A package sitting out on the steps, maybe in the weather and definitely in plain sight was not a good thing. So I called the shipper, and they said they would hold it for delivery sometime next week.
I hope the delay-delivery request gets through to the right people. I'll be watching the tracker just to be safe.
