Aside from the snow, Connecticut is so different from Texas. It gets dark by about 4:30 here. It's raining and the rain sounds different. The birds are different. Everything is normal and feels normal, but then I look again and it's not.

I'm kind of homesick right now. Not bad homesick, just kind of missing my cats and Texas. I think it's the dark. It comes way too early here.

True, we have more sun when it's daytime (it's not as low, though it's low) and day lasts a little longer--but before you leave up there you should be feeling the days lengthening. I remember feeling that in Virginia when I lived there--by the first of January, I could feel it.
